During a press conference last week, Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves revealed that at a meeting with West Indies Cricket Board President Whycliffe Cameron and Chief Executive Officer Michael Muirhead, he pitched for the games.

“I told them I’m not going like how some other heads of governments have gone and said that other people are getting games and we are not getting games,” Gonsalves said.

“I didn’t want to make it sound like that. I say all I want to do is see that I get a fair share of some games. Because we have so many facilities now in all the islands with test match status….”

The Prime Minister said that his intercession ensured that the Arnos Vale Playing Field would get some action, and will see the teams battle on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28.

Pakistan begin their tour of the West Indies with two one-day internationals on July 14 and 16 at the Bourda cricket ground in Guyana, then will move to St Lucia at the Beausejour cricket ground, for three one day matches on July 19, 21 and 24, before heading to St Vincent and the Grenadines.(JJ)
