After being demoted to the lower division this year, the lawmenâs destiny was confirmed last Sunday at the Stubbs Playing Field, when they earned an outright win over Radcliffe Too.
Police One were on 81 points, two fewer than Buccament Bay Androids; however, the latterâs match ended in a no decision at the Sion Hill Playing Field.
Radcliffe Too were dismissed for 68, batting first. Shawn Browne made 20.
Sylvan Spencer took 3 for 28 and Vertil Davis 2 for 28, bowling for Police One, who then replied with 148 all out.
Parnel Browne led the way with 52; Daniel Mc Millan grabbed 3 for 6, and Kensley Joseph 3 for 39.
Behind by 80 runs, Radcliffe Too in their second innings were bowled out for 111. Kamon Green hit a top score of 32.
Again it was the combination of Vertil Davis â 4 for 22 and Sylvan Spencer – 3 for 16, which undid Radcliffe Tooâs batting.
Police One knocked off the required 32 runs for the loss of two wickets.
Meanwhile, Buccament Bay Androids had to lick their wounds as they were close, but yet so far.
In a match where there was no play on Saturday, Androids made 81 all out and Robertsonâs Surveys Belmont United were 56 for 8, when play ended on Sunday.
At the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, in a match also affected by rain, Smashers gained first innings points over Ruddyâs Electrical Unique Warriors.
Batting first, Unique Warriors were 148 all out; Leon Samuel had 50.
Darren Russell, 4 for 62, and Marvin Harry, 3 for 23, were the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, Smashers posted 157 for 7, with Ronald Scott lacing 101.
Bowling for Unique Warriors, Junior Bacchus snared 3 for 17 and Samuel Byam 3 for 33.
Police One not only returned to the top division, but are eligible for the new 40-over competition to be launched later this month, which also includes the top three teams in the Premier Division â Team Rivals, Victors One and Saints.
And, in a case of a substitution drill, Police One replace Victors Two in the premiership, a reversal of what transpired at the end of the 2012 competition.(RT)
