New winner to be crowned in KFC WSG Primary School Cricket Competition

The second edition of the KFC West St George Primary Schools’ T-20 Cricket Competition will see a new champion after inaugural winner — Coreas Hazells Inc Gomea Methodist was booted out.{{more}}

As the competition winds down, there were victories for CIBC First Caribbean International Bank Sion Hill Primary and the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Belair Primary last weekend at the Dorsetshire Hill Playing Field.

Sion Hill defeated St Vincent Teachers Credit Union Belmont Primary by 51 runs.

Batting first, Sion Hill scored 124 off 16 overs; Brian Alexander 31, Jessie Edwards 16, Nicobie Lavia 15; Zackroy John 4 for 25, Akeem Thomas 3 for 26.

Belmont were then dismissed for 73 off 11 overs; Akeem Thomas 16, Zackroy John 13.

It was Mario Alexander’s 6 for 25 which undid Belmont. Jessie Edwards chipped in with 2 for 3.

Belair Primary beat dethroned champion Coreas Hazells Gomea Methodist by six wickets.

Gomea Methodist were dismantled for 38 off 11 overs; T- Shaka Patterson 13; Rondre John grabbed 5 for 7; and Aaron Bascombe 2 for 10.

In response, Belair notched up 39 for 4 off 7.1 overs; Shayne Lynch took 2 for 10, bowling for Belair.

Sion Hill and Belair will meet to determine who meets LOG Enterprises Dorsetshire Hill in the final. (RT)
