Surprizers on target in Bagga softball cricket competition

Reigning champion of the National Lotteries Authority Bagga T-20 softball cricket competition, Surprizers, began their defence of the title with a comfortable win over Buccament Warriors{{more}}, on the opening day of the 2013 edition last Saturday at the Keartons Playing Field.

Buccament made 72, batting first. Lindsay Francis – 3 for 5 and Godfrey Derrick – 3 for 17, were the main wicket takers for Surprizers.

In response, Surprizers reached the target in 11.5 overs, losing five wickets in the process. Edison Williams topscored with 18. Renrick Cordice took 3 for 28.

Also chalking up a win was Topsidaz, who defeated Tough Mouth by 63 runs.

Batting first, Topsidaz posted 132 from their allotted 20 overs. Levan Richardson hit 38. Garvin Davis snapped up 2 for 15.

Tough Mouth was then dismissed for 69; Enrique Gaymes took 3 for 9.

And Glen United, making comeback to the competition after a one year absence, locked away new comers, Prisons, by 104 runs.

Glen posted 168 in 20 overs, Ronaldo Shallow recording the first half century, 52.

Prisons were bundled out for 64 in 10.4 overs, with Cornelius Emmonds taking 3 for 27. (RT)
