Records tumble at TSSS track and field meet
Nine more new marks were set when the Thomas Saunders Secondary School concluded its eighth annual track and field championships last Tuesday at the Victoria Park, bringing the number for the 2013 edition to seventeen, as eight were set prior to sports day.{{more}}
Last Tuesdayâs event saw Saunders House retaining the title, amassing 1013 points.
Second was St Hill House on 789 points, third was Jones House with 765 points and fourth was Webb House on 738 points.
In the individual awards, there was a joint first place for the junior female champion, which was shared by Keyra Lewis and Halisha Mayers, who both recorded 16 points. Lewis and Mayers belong to Saunders House.
The male junior champion was Immanuel Henry of Saunders House, as he compiled 28 points.
The intermediate category saw Shaffiqua Maloney of Webb House running away with the female title, as she put together 54 points. Rogike Thorpe of Saunders House was top among the males, with his 52 points.
Thorpe went on to claim the Victor Ludorum title.
Nicky Ann Stephens of Saunders House took the senior female title, as well as the Victrix Ludorum with her 63 points. Champing the male senior title was Micah Mc Intosh of Jones House with 40 points. (RT)
