Biabou softball cricket competition ends Sunday

A new champion is expected to be crowned Sunday at the Biabou Playing Field, when the 2012 Biabou T-20 softball cricket competition concludes.{{more}}

Already in the final is Shot Gun XI, who stopped Dr Thomas Injectors last Sunday in the first semi-final.

Batting first, Shot Gun XI scored 102 all out in 19.3 overs. Kartel Williams hit 24.

Bowling for Injectors, Damien Allen had 2 for 11, Kelvin Lorraine — 2 for 18, and Kezron Ashton and Ronnick Daniel — 2 for 22 each.

Injectors, in response, were dismissed for 97. Richard Dickson and Sonic Pompey each took 2 for 22 and Cody Jarvis — 2 for 11.

On Saturday, defending champions Pine Hill Dairy Clinchers were ousted by Ravers by 7 wickets.

Clinchers made 105 for 8 from 19.3 overs; Oheyon Toby — 31 and Henderson Morgan — 29.

Ravers’ bowling was led by Stephen Culzac, who picked up 3 for 0, and Rodney Lawrence — 2 for 24.

Andrew Thomas then hit 33 and Recarvo Williams 26, as Ravers replied with 106 for 3 in 17. 3 overs.

This Saturday, Ravers meet South Rivers Wings from 2:45 p.m. in the second semi-final.

The winner faces Shot Gun XI from 2 p.m. on Sunday, following which the presentation ceremony will take place. (RT)
