Teams make haste in Biabou softball competition

South Rivers Wings, Gairy’s Construction Simple Boys and Dr Thomas Injectors recorded wins last weekend in the Biabou T-20 Softball Cricket competition at the Biabou Playing Field.{{more}}

On Saturday, South Rivers Wings whipped Y De Lima Hot Spurs by 91 runs.

South Rivers Wings posted 168 for 8 from their 20 overs, led by Asif Hoppers’ 83.

Donaldson Henry captured 3 for 45, bowling for Hot Spurs.

But in response, they were dismissed for 71, with Verbert King making a top score of 15.

Bowling for Wings, Daveon Barnum took 4 for 4, Kadier Nedd, 2 for 18, and Orland Wilkinson, 2 for 10.

Also on Saturday, Simple Boys outlasted Bank of SVG All Stars by 6 wickets.

Glenroy Dasent was the lead scorer with 17, as All Stars’ fell for 48. Casmond Walters — 4 for 10, and Travis Walters — 2 for 3, were the top bowlers for Simple Boys.

Desron Maloney 18 and St Clair Dickson 14, then pushed Simple Boys to 51 for 4 in 6.5 overs.

Then on Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors undid Ravers by 37 runs.

Sunil Ambris hit 31, as Injectors made 86 in 15.1 overs. Kwasi Marks, who bagged 6 for 18, spearheaded Ravers’ bowling.

His efforts were not matched by his batsmen, who tumbled for 49 in 12.3 overs, with Andre Lewis, the top scorer, with 20.

Bowling for Injectors, Kenson Ashton took 4 for 9 and Ronnick Daniel 3 for 14.

Sunday’s other match between defending champion Pine Hill Dairy Clinchers and Simple Boys was affected by rain. (RT)
