Limited play in NLA TBPO Softball Cricket competition

There was limited play last Saturday and Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation T-20 Softball Cricket competition.

On Saturday, the lone match contested saw CGM novice defeating Valley Boys by 44 runs.{{more}}

Novice batted first and made 137 for 7 in 20 overs.

Roderick John hit 25 and Kentish Phillips contributed 20. Bowling for Valley Boys, Shawn O’Garro had 2 for17 and Winston Bascombe 2 for 43.

In reply, Valley Boys reached 93 all out in 17.5 overs. Winston Bascombe struck 32 not out and Keithland Cudjoe 20.

Everton Durant, with 3 for 35, was Novice’s lead bowler, with Andre Hunte and Chris King both chipping in 2 for 16.

On Sunday, Dr Thomas injectors stopped Nex Level by eight wickets.

Next Level took first strike and made 92 for 8 in 20 overs.

Rohan Ash led the way with 26. Bowling for Injectors, Kelvin Lorraine bagged 3 for 13, Emil Small 2 for 13 and Augustine Corridon 2 for 19.

In reply, Injectors reached 96 for 2 in 9 overs.

Sunil Ambris made 45 not out and Augustine Corridon 22.

The other two matches set for Sunday were affected by rain.

Glen United had won the toss against Sunset Strikers and decided to bat when rain stopped play.

Glen was 108 for 1 in 9.3 overs. Henderson Morgan was 48 not out and Marcus Hackshaw 31 not out.

The other game was to have seen Gomea Bombers taking on Older Boys. (RT)
