TBPO softball cricket competition keeps going

Three matches were played last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field, as the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball T-20 Cricket competition continued.{{more}}

Leaving the venue in a joyous mood were Nex Level, Mac Little Saints and Gomea Bombers.

Nex Level defeated Georgie Valley Saints by 73 runs.

Donson Andrews slammed 59, to lead Nex Level to 158.

Zane Greaves 3 for 9, Emmerson Quashie 3 for 33 and Kareem Cumberbatch 2 for 23, were the successful bowlers for Georgie Valley Saints.

But their efforts were not matched by their batsmen, who tumbled for 85 all out.

Kevin Matthias top scored with 16. Bowling for Nex Level, Deptor Culzac took 4 for 14 and Courtney Joyette 3 for 25.

Also Mac Little Saints outdid Sunset Strikers by 73 runs.

Mac Little Saints posted 142, led by Sebastian Davis’ 31 and Amos Clarke, who struck 28.

Rodney Warner picked up 2 for 24 and Damian Cumberbatch 2 for 34, bowling for Sunset Strikers.

In response, Sunset Strikers made 69 all out. Leroy Farrell hit 23.

Frederick Jack 2 for 8, Sheldon Straugh 2 for 12 and Jamal Alexander 2 for 18, shared the bowling honours for Mac Little Saints.

And, Gomea Bombers overcame Glen United by 1 wicket.

Maxi Hackshaw belted 83, inclusive of 12 sixes, as Glen United reached 125 for 8 from their 20 overs.

Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Kristoff Gibson took 3 for 11 and Kendall Payne 2 for 8.

Gomea Bombers responded with 131 for 9 in 14 overs. Kendall Payne struck 52 and Cleus Robertson 16.

Wayne Garraway was the lead bowler for Glen United as he grabbed 4 for 14. (RT)
