Greiggs T-20 softball tourney moving on
Young Strikers, RSVG Police, Digicel Stallions, and Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines All Stars triumphed last weekend in the Sea Operations Greiggs Twenty20 Softball Cricket Championship at the Greiggs Playing Field.{{more}}
Young Strikers defeated LP Ball Blazers by 4 wickets. Ball Blazers made 87 in 16.5 overs, with Osnet Cato making 22.
Roger Francis took 3 for 8, as Young Strikers replied with 88 for 6 in 17.3 overs. Jamal Young, with 3 for 27, was LP Ballersâ most successful bowler.
Also in winnerâs row were defending champions, RSVG Police, who dumped Mt Grenan by 70 runs.
In a match reduced to 15 overs, Police posted 181 for 3.
Elmore Alexander cracked 50, Salvan Browne, 47, and Roderick John, 43.
Mt Grenan replied with 111 for 6 in their 15 overs.
Daniel Foyle hit 33.
Malcovin Jack took 2 for 13, bowling for RSVG Police.
Also, Digicel Stallion humbled Pent House by 86 runs.
Stallions notched up 119 all out in 18.5 overs. Marley Duncan top scored with 40, as Parry Henry snared 4 for 15.
Pent House was dismissed for 33 in eight overs. Shawn Williams grabbed 4 for 12 and Shamic Roberts 3 for 19, bowling for the Stallions.
And, Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines All Stars diluted Sugar Boys by 88 runs.
Batting first, All Stars posted 143 for 7 in 16 overs. Asquith Mapp hit 36 and Earl Pope and Desmond Blucher contributed 32.
Sugar Boys could only muster 55 in 13.4 overs. Abdian Baptiste top scored with 20. Dedrain Pitt was All Starsâ most successful bowler, with 3 for 16. (RT)
