Bequia off the mark in Masters’ cricket

Bequia upstaged CK Greaves Arnos Vale last Sunday at the Paget Farm Playing Field in Bequia.{{more}}

Batting first, Bequia notched up 146 all out in 18.4 overs.

Herbert Woodley led his team’s total with 62.

Bowling for Arnos Vale, Leroy Glasgow hauled in 3 for 16 and Basil Weekes 3 for 24.

Arnos Vale then tumbled for 53 off 16. 2 overs as Jefferson Richards picked up 4 for 7.

There were also wins for Computec Belfongo, North Leeward Combined, Sion Hill, Stanley Browne’s Stubbs, and LOG Enterprises Kingstown.

Belfongo defeated Bickles Fun Masters by 6 wickets at the Main Arnos Vale Playing Field on Saturday.

Bickles Fun Masters made 96 for 9 off 20 overs. Samuel Richards scored 43. Rohan King had 3 for 6, bowling for Belfongo, who replied with 97 for 4 in 14.1overs. Peter Campbell was the top scorer with 28.

North Leeward Combined upstaged the struggling Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police by 8 wickets at Buccament.

Police struggled to 73 off 19.1 overs. Police were undone by the bowling of Met Stapleton, who accounted for 4 for 15, and Federal Jeffrey’s 3 for 3.

North Leeward Combined reached 75 for 2 off 15.2 overs.

Reginald Jeffrey led the way with 36.

Sion Hill beat Joyette’s Auto Slater Development Pastures by 87 runs at the Arnos Vale Playing Field Sunday morning.

Sion Hill, on the back of 53 not out from Keyon Jack and 46 by Bill Edwards, posted 165 for 4, off 20 overs.

Pastures replied with 78 for 9, off 20 overs. Bill Edwards crowned off a good all-round performance with 3 for 7.

Later on Sunday, also at Arnos Vale, Stanley Browne’s Stubbs surpassed St Vincent Cooperative Bank P’ tani by 55 runs.

Stubbs racked up 169 for 4 in 20 overs. Stubbs’ batting linchpin Dawnley Joseph stroked 58; Christopher Campbell scored 47 and Leon Samuel contributed 35.

P’ tani could only make 114 for 7, off 20 overs. Pats Williams scored 28.

Micah Joseph picked up 3 for 19, bowling for Stubbs.

And, defending champions Log Enterprises Kingstown romped to a comprehensive 142-run victory over Cato’s Heavy Equipment Glamorgan at Buccament on Sunday.

Kingstown rattled up 187 for 5, off 20 overs. Winsbert Springer struck 76; Joseph Carrington hit 53 and Brian Alexander 42.

Glamorgan was then dismissed for 43 in 14.2 overs. Ancil Hooper — 3 for 11, Hollis John — 2 for 6, and Joseph Medford — 2 for 12, were the successful bowlers for Kingstown. (RT)
