The race will cover a distance of 70 miles, with cyclists doing 7 laps between Langley Park, Tourouma and Byrea Hill.

The BMX category will do 2 laps, a distance of 20 miles along the same route.

The local race is one of many around the world, in which countries affiliated to the World Cycling body have Nationals around this time so that cyclists can gain points to attend World Championships.

Sunday’s event is in preparation for the upcoming 10 stage road race in Trinidad in August and the 12th Junior and Elite Championship road race later this year.

Registration for Sunday’s event closes tomorrow, Saturday, at Sailor’s Cycle Center, located on Upper Middle Street in Kingstown.
