Health and Wellness wins South Leeward Softball Competition

Health and Wellness recorded a four-wicket win over Rillan Hill, last Sunday at the Campden Park Playing Field, to be crowned 2012 champions of the National Lotteries Authority South Leeward T/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

Rillan Hill won the toss and decided to bat, a decision which backfired, as Deptor Culzac, 4 for 10, and Christopher Cordice, 2 for 13, creamed the top half of their batting, as they were 20 for 5 at one stage.

Renal Stapleton came to the rescue with 29, to see Rillan Hill to 77, all out, in 19.3 overs.

Health and Wellness, in response, reached 78 for 6, with Isaac Trimmingham’s 18 being the topscore.

Bowling for Rillan Hill, Renal Quashie took 2 for 13 and Jermaine Cruickshank 2 for 17.

In the third place play-off which preceded the final, Lower Campden Park clinched third spot when they defeated Great House by 47 runs.

Bating first, Lower Campden Park made 102, all out, in 15.2 overs. Ronald Medford top scored with 35.

Bowling for Great House, Devern Holder took 3 for 20.

Great House in their reply was bundled out for 55 in 19 overs. Mikelle Hamilton hit 18.

Javed Gibson was the pick of the bowlers for Lower Camden Park, taking 4 for 24. (RT)
