Middlesex records double wins in BCL
Vincentian team, Middlesex, went two up last weekend in the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL), when they defeated Diplomats and Cavaliers, to take their win/loss record for the 2012 campaign to 4-1.{{more}}
Playing at Marine Park D on Saturday, Middlesex, opting to bat after winning the toss, posted a challenging 309 all out in 38 overs. Newly installed Captain Andre Kirton scored his second century for the year when he top scored with 126; Rod Michael contributed 35 and Dominic Audain 35 not out.
Triston Carmichael had 2 for 42 and Darren Denis 2 for 75, bowling for Diplomats, who were then skittled out for 86.
Adam Sanford grabbed 5 for 36 and Andre Kirton 3 for 7, as Middlesex won by 207 runs.
On Sunday, Middlesex continued their winning ways, again defeating some of their former teammates of Cavaliers. Batting first, Middlesex made 155 all out in 31.2 overs. Rod Michael struck 50 and Mark Audain 30. Bowling for Cavaliers, Selwyn Caine took 3 for 25; Michael Providence and former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windwards and West Indies fast bowler Cameron Cuffy 2 for 23.
At their turn at the crease, Cavaliers was dismissed for 102 in 28.5 overs. Timothy Warner scored 23. Bowling for Middlesex, Treldon McMillan snared 5 for 18 and Dominic Audain 2 for 33, to lead Middlesex to a 53-run win.
In the other Vincy clash between Queensbury and Imperial, Queensbury made 163 all out, batting first. Andy Douglas topscored with 39. Bowling for Imperial, Dixieth Palmer took 4 for 30 and Byron Mars 2 for 28.
Imperial, in reply, posted 167 for 2. Roy Bryan led the way with 72 not out; Norris Campbell hit 53 not out and Dixieth Palmer made 32. For Queensbury, Gregory Blair 2 for 41. Imperial won by eight wickets (RT)
