Young turks score big in local Cricket
Two of this countryâs young cricketers, Sunil Ambris and Darren Greaves, slammed centuries last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division Competition of the national programme.{{more}}
Both took a liking to the Stubbs Playing Field pitch, as they helped their teams to post relatively high totals.
Greavesâ 115 led ASCOâs first innings total of 262, all out. Desron Maloney struck 39 and Bernard Bushay 38. Bowling for Saints, Kenroy Peters snared 4 for 37 and Kentish Jacobs took 2 for 50.
Ambris then lashed 137, to see Saints to 267 for 8 declared. Mozario Matthews was the next best with 45.
ASCOâs bowling was led by Darius Martin, who grabbed 3 for 34 and Elric Morris, who had 2 for 51.
ASCO, batting a second time, was 89 for 1, with Desron Maloney hitting 45 and Darren Greaves not out on 36.
First Division
Like the Premier Division, one match was contested in the First Division, between Radcliffe Too and Log Enterprises Masters at the North Union Playing Field.
The match saw former St Vincent and the Grenadines batsman Sylvannus Vanloo getting into triple figures.
Vanloo creamed 101, to lead Log Masters response of 227, all out. Delshon Welcome, who is still a primary school student, scored 43 and Samuel Williams contributed 33.
Bowling for Radcliffe Too, Kareem Peters had 3 for 27 and Arnold Gilkes had 2 for 43.
At the close of play, Radcliffe Too was 73 for 3. (RT)
