In the process, Surprizers dethroned champions RSVG Police.
Surprizersâ victory was achieved in the Super Over contest, after both teams had leveled their scores at 83.
In the Super over, RSVG Police batted first and made 6-0; Surprizers erased the total, reaching 7 for 1.
The victory was greeted by cheers from the Surprizers supporters who were urging their team on from the outset.
During the main part of the match, Surprizers edged their way to 83 for 8 from their allotted 20 overs.
Roy Richards was the fulcrum of the Surprizersâ batting, as he lashed 36. Surprizersâ total was aided by 33 extras conceded by the RSVG Police outfit.
Bowling for Police, Malcolm Alexander took 3 for 13 and Osrick James grabbed 3 for 14.
The depleted RSVG Police team never looked in their usual commanding form, and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Policeâs innings was stitched up by a 30 run eighth wicket partnership between Gerald Gould and Malcolm Alexander, which carried the score to 82. But Police lost their radar, as their last three wickets fell for one run, to leave the first result in an agonizing tie, with one ball to spare.
The last over sent down by Anton Caesar, in which only three runs were conceded, proved the decisive run in to the match.
Gould was the topscorer with 23 before he was needlessly run out. Calvert Cordice raked in 4 for 13, to be Surprizersâ most successful bowler.
Police were in search of their third successive Bagga T-20 title.
The lawmen, last year, won an unprecedented four Softball Cricket titles, which included the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Competition; the ASCO competition and the Sea Operations Greiggs Competition.
Organizers, the Softball Cricket Committee of the Barrouallie Sports Association, say that the Presentation Ceremony will be done at a date and time which will be communicated in due course.(RT)
