Smashers humble Youth United
Smashers completed an 18-run win at the expense of Brydenâs Frutee Youth United in the National Lotteries Authority First Division of the national Cricket programme at Buccament last weekend.{{more}}
Smashers batted first and made 96 all out. Isaac Trimmingham was in ripping form, taking 6 for 42 and Keroy Roberts took 3 for 16, for Youth United.
Anthony Charles then grabbed 4 for 38 and Bishon Williams 3 for 12, as Youth United was dismissed for 80.
The low scores continued as Smashers made 64, batting a second time. Isaac Trimmingham was again among the wickets, with 4 for 10. Travis Cumberbatch took 3 for 1.
Set 80 to win, Youth United could only reach 62 all out, undone by the bowling of Marvin Harry, who took 3 for 14 and Bishon Williams, 3 for 22.
Also in the First Division, Unique Warriors took first innings points from late entrant Sion Hill.
Taking first strike at the Stubbs Playing Field, Unique Warriors scored 215 for 4 declared.
Leon Samuel, 85 and Lesbert Jeffrey, 50, were the principal scorers. Glenroy Jacobs had 2 for 59 for Sion Hill, who responded with 125 all out.
Dwayne Bacchus was Sion Hillâs best batsman with 43. Bowling for Unique Warriors, Dudley David fetched 4 for 5, Joseph Medford 4 for 48 and Leon Samuel 2 for 32.
Unique Warriors in their second innings declared at 73 for 8. Javil Harry had 4 for 20 and Glenroy Jacobs 2 for 11.
Set 163 to win, Sion Hill was tottering at 66 for 9 at the close of play. Leon Samuel had taken 3 for 12 and Dudley David 3 for 16.(RT)
