Middlesex gets upstaged in BCL
Middlesex, one of four Vincentian outfits campaigning in the Brooklyn Cricket League, faltered last Sunday at Marine Park A, as they went under to Panthers by 44 runs.{{more}}
Middlesex won the toss and inserted Panthers to bat; Panthers posted an under par 123 all out in 26.3 overs. Ulfat Shahzad top scored with 49.
Off spinners Joseph Ledwridge bagged 5 for 18 and Claymont Rose had 3 for 15.
But Middlesex never came to grips in their reply, as they were dismissed for 79.
Andre Kirton with 25 and Alston Bacchus 22 were the only batsmen to offer any resistance to the Panthers, bowling.
Noursherwan Adil tore through the Middlesex batting order, grabbing 4 for 2.
This weekend though, serves up some interesting match-ups, as the four Vincy teams will be in action.
On Saturday, an all Vincy clash is slated for Marine Park C, when Queensbury and Imperial face off.
Also on Saturday, another Vincentian team, Cavaliers, take on Sheffield at Marine Park A, and at Marine Park D, Middlesex engages Guyanese outfit Diplomats.
On Sunday, June 3, another all Vincy clash is there for decision at Marine Park C, as Middlesex and Cavaliers battle each other for supremacy.
