RSVG Police gained their final berth with a five-wicket win over Summerset, last Saturday in the semi-finals.
Summerset, choosing to bat first, reached 101 for 8 off 20 overs. Ralmore Pierre was the main contributor with 32. Renford Jack was Policeâs best bowler with 3 for 20.
Police then got over the line with five wickets to spare. Saleme George struck 25 for the lawmen. Bowling for Summerset, Relon Mc Kie took 2 for 13.
Police opponents in the championship match Surprizers ousted Valley Boys by eight wickets.
Valley Boys were never in the contest, after being dismissed for 53 in 14. 4 overs.
David Bascombe was the topscorer with 19, as Anton Caesar bagged 4 for 3.
Calvert Cordice then scored 20, as Suprizers got to the target of 54, losing two wickets in the process.
Saturdayâs final will be a repeat of the 2010 competition decider, with Surprizers hoping to turn the tables and upset RSVG Policeâs plans of a three peat.
Dubbed kings of Softball Cricket in St Vincent and the Grenadines, RSVG Police won an unprecedented four titles in 2011.
Under their belt were the Bagga title, the ASCO competition, the Top Belair Progressive Organization title and they added the Greiggs competition, in dramatic fashion, to sweeten the pot of winnings. (RT)
