Choppins United wins Biabou KO Football title
Choppins outplayed and outscored Sea Operations Greiggs in the finals of the Carib Biabou Nine-A-Side Knockout Competition last Sunday afternoon at the Biabou Playing Field.{{more}}
A goal each from Desmond Samuel and Deron Quashie gave Choppins the win at the expense of the much fancied and more experienced Greiggs outfit.
Choppins, in their semi-final, defeated Monster United 2-1, while Greiggs stopped Richland Park 5-4 on penalties, after both teams had finished 2-2 in regulation time.
Choppinsâ attention shifts this Tuesday to the league competition, when they face Richland Park.
The second semi-final is set for Wednesday, with defending champion Cane End facing off with Monster United.
The two losing semi-finalists contest the third place play-off on Friday.
Sunday is the grand finale, when the winners of the semi-finals cross paths to determine the 2012 champion team.
Following Sundayâs final, the Presentation and Closing Ceremony will take place. (RT)
