TASVG stages Teams Competition this Saturday
Team Athletics SVG holds its Annual Teams Competition tomorrow Saturday, from 9:00 am to 12 noon at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.{{more}}
The Teams Competition is open to both males and females who were born in 1997, 1998 or 1999, with each team comprising six members.
Each athlete will be allowed to compete in 2 or 3 events in 2 or 3 specific categories i.e one race or one jump and or one throw in addition to a relay event.
Additionally, a maximum of three athletes of each team will be allowed to participate in one event.
Events to be contested are the 100 m, 1000 m, 50 m Hurdles, the High Jump, the Long Jump and Triple Jump, the Shot Putt, the Discus and the 4 x 100 m Relay.
The total score of each team will be established by the total score of the two best performances in each event as well as the results from the relays.
This Saturdayâs Teams Competition follows on the heels of the Mustique Company National Championships held last Saturday, May 5.
The trilogy of events will be completed on Saturday May 19, with the convening of the Kids In Athletics Championships which are carded for the Calliaqua Playing Field. (RT)
