Team Rivals tramples Police One
Team Rivals was victorious against Police One last weekend at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, in one of two matches which bowled off the 2012 National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national Cricket Competition.{{more}}
Batting first, Team Rivals posted 231 for 6 declared. Harley Skerritt missed out on the first century, making 98; Marvin Small scored 54. Renford Jack took 3 for 32, bowling for Police One.
In response, Police One was shot out for 73. Vertil Davis was the topscorer with 20, as Kesrick Williams picked up 5 for 30 and Deighton Butler 3 for 15.
Asked to follow on, Police One was dismissed for 97, to give Team Rivals victory by an innings and 23 runs. Peter Morris hit 45, to be Police Oneâs best batsman. Olanzo Jackson snared 5 for 9 and Deighton Butler 3 for 19.
First Division
Two matches were also contested in the First Division.
At the Stubbs Playing Field, Victors Two recorded a nine wicket triumph over Radcliffe Two.
Victors Two got to 160 for 6 declared. Leshawn Lewis hit 40; Kishore Shallow made 31, Nicholas Baptiste 29 and Denis Byam 27. Bowling for Radcliffe Two, Kimron Quashie had 3 for 28.
Radcliffe Two was dismissed for 55. Javon Samuel snapped up 5 for 22 and Javed Harry 5 for 30.
Batting a second time, Radcliffe fared better, posting 109. Kimron Quashie hit 55 not out and Michael St Hillaire 33.
Javon Samuel was at his best as he grabbed 6 for 47, to finish with a match haul of 11 for 67. Jamal Phillips assisted Samuel with 3 for 55.
Victors Two reached 5 for 1, to earn maximum points, on their journey to return to the Premier Division.
In the other First Division fixture at the Buccament Bay Playing Field, Smashers eeked out a one wicket win over Unique Warriors.
Unique Warriors scored 128, batting first. Smashers reached 134 for declared.
Unique Warriors, batting a second time, was dismissed for 101, setting Smashers 97 to win.
Smashers got the target, but for the loss of nine wickets. (RT)
