Prince crowns off with fifth win
Veteran athlete Caswin Prince placed his stamp of authority in road racing, as he secured his fifth win last Sunday, as the road racing and cross country calendar crossed out its last date.{{more}}
Prince, on familiar territory, won the Log Enterprise North Leeward race.
It was Princeâs fifth win for the season, having taken the veterans category of the Cross Country Run, the North Windward race, the Byera Hill race and the Sion Hill Sprint.
Second to Prince was Myles Ballantyne, and third was Steed Conradsen.
Among the Females Over 40, the winner was Pamie Small. The second place winner was Shadine Baptiste.
At the other end of the age spectrum, the champion in the Male Under-15 was Jamal Williams. Akani Slater took the second spot and third was Alex Grant.
Among the females in the Under-15, the first to finish in that age group was Kerina Hooper, as Melany Woods had to settle for second and Aleen Michael was third.
Quincy Small copped the Male Under-19, enjoying the top spot in the absence of Ezra Samuel, who had won the four previous events in that age group. Curtis King was second and Mike Francis was third.
Winning the Female Under-19 was Anada Francois. Trailing her in second position was Tara Joseph and third was Jemonique Walters.
Pamenos Ballantyne returned to take his rightful place as the Male Over-19 winner, ending the reign of Junior Ashton who had revelled in Ballantyneâs absence. Josnel Ashton placed third.
Lisa Daniel pulled out the stops last weekend and reclaimed the Female Over-19, ahead of Nadia Delpesche. Linda Mc Dowall finished third.
Chairman of the Road Racing and Cross Country Committee of Team Athletics SVG Leroy Llewellyn said that Sundayâs race lived up to its usual high standards and it was again a fitting way to crown off the road racing season.(RT)
