Assistant Coach of St. Vincent and the Grenadines national Football team Cornelius Huggins is appealing to the general public to support the team as they play against Guatemala this Friday,{{more}} October 7, 2011, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Huggins told SEARCHLIGHT that the team is confident that they will bring home a victory on Friday.

Huggins added that after the match with Grenada, the team has focused on areas on which to improve.

“We noticed we were not as fit as we’re supposed to be,” he said, adding that for the past few weeks, the team members have been working on fitness and other techniques to perfect their performance in today’s game.

Huggins also encouraged all members of the Vincentian public to to come out and support the groupdonned in Blue, Gold and Green.

Marketing Manager Idiesha Jackson also encouraged Vincentians to come out to support the team. “We expect it to be a very vibrant crowd…we are looking to get as much support as possible from the general public,” Jackson said.

The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. The entrance fee for adults is $20, Children $10 and Children in uniform $5.(OS)
