The election of officers will be the major issue at that Annual General Meeting, which comes smack in the middle of this country’s World Cup campaign.

The meeting will take place at the Football Federation’s Office on the second floor of the Nichols Building, Bentick Square, Kingstown.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been drawn in the Group E of Round Two of the CONCACAF Zone of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, with the matches set to be played between September 2 and November 15.

So far, there are three candidates who have expressed an interest in the major position, that of President. One former President, Venold Coombs, a former executive member Michael John, and US based Patrick Horne have all publicly offered up their candidacy.

The Executive is currently being headed by Joseph Delves, who edged out former President St. Clair Leacock 40-39, in a hotly contested election four years ago.

Three Vice Presidents will also be elected at the September Annual General Meeting.

The President elect will choose two Committee Members to sit on the Executive, with the affiliates electing the other three at their first General Meeting.

The three current Vice Presidents are Ian Sardine – First Vice President, Raymond Trimmingham – Second Vice President, and Ashley Caine – Third Vice President.

At present, the functioning Committee Members are Arnold Dalrymple, Cerlian Russell, Jules Anthony and Kamara Doyle.

Ian Hypolite serves as the SVGFF’s General Secretary, which is a paid position.

Other agenda items set for next month’s AGM are the Confirmation of Minutes, Business Arising from the Minutes, Presentation of the Executive Summary, the Presentation of Financial Statement and Audited Balance Sheet for the year ended 31st December, 2010, and Any other Business. (RT)
