Captain of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines team Ijahlon Butler was voted the tournamentâs Most Valuable Player and added the Best Scorer and Best Spiker awards to his trophy cabinet.
The other individual awards to come St. Vincent and the Grenadinesâ way were the Best Setter, which was grasped by Jamal Small, and the Best Server, which Maxroy Dublin pouched.
Butler and Small were part of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Schools Volleyball team which lifted the Volleyball component of the Windward Islands Secondary Schools Games for the first time, when the Games were held in St. Lucia in 2010.
They are expected to almost form the fulcrum of the defence of the title, when the Games touch down in Dominica later this month.
Also journeying to Anguilla, and who were part of a St. Vincent and the Grenadines victorious bunch, were Marlon Cupid, Jamal Edwards, Brendon Smart, Adonson Da Souza, Lesroy Questelles and Andre Franklyn.
Vance Andrews served as the teamâs coach and Duane Daniel was among a pool of referees for the tournament. (RT)
