In a hapless display, North Leeward was dismissed for 48. The St. Vincent and the Grenadines captain, Cordel Jack, flattered her opponentsâ porous batting with her off spin, as she grabbed 6 for 8.
United Survivors, in reply, strode to 48 for 3, taking advantage of some wayward bowling served up to them.
At the North Union Playing Field, Garifuna Stars also revelled against last yearâs runner up in both the league and knock out, JG Tigress.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines and West Indies player Juliana Nero led the way in her teamâs formidable total. Nero hit 98 not out, as Garifuna posted 175 for 6, from their 20 overs. Denise Francois contributed 29 not out. National players Sheree Ann John, 3 for 32, and Rochelle John, 2 for 35, took the bulk of wickets that fell.
But the Tigresses batting wilted under the bowling of Garifuna Stars, and folded for 71.
Juliana Nero had figures of 2 for 7, Terisha Lavia, 3 for 7, and Lyris Nero, 3 for 12, all combined, as their team registered an easy 104 runs triumph. (RT)
