Mustique T/20 Semi Finals this weekend

The semi-finals of the Mustique T/20 Cricket Competition will be played this weekend, bringing together title-holders Sweetie Pie Bakery against Pink House TAGS, while James Archibald Designs Limited (JAD) will oppose Milsom Construction.{{more}} Both matches will bowl off at 2:30 pm at the Mustique Playing Field.

When the last preliminary matches were played prior to last weekend’s suspension for Carnival celebrations, Milsom Construction and JAD recorded victories, as their final placings were confirmed.

Milsom Construction amassed 161 for 5 from their allotted 20-overs after batting first against Rock Masters to win by 16 runs on a faster scoring rate.

Lenford Hooper top scored with 45 for Milsom Construction, supported by Kevin Creese’s 31. Sydney Ollivierre took 2 for 23, and Ezekiel Welcome, 2 for 26, to be Rock Masters top bowlers.

Rock Masters reached 54 for four from 10.4 overs when rain stopped play. Milsom Construction bowling was spearheaded by Lorenzo Ellis who collected 2 for 9, and Cedric Cupid, 2 for 14. Lenford Hooper was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

JAD beat Lion Gate Masters by 139 runs.

Batting first, JAD posted the highest total in the tournament to date rattling up 211 for only two wickets; Burton Ragguette scored 67 not out, with Carl Hamlett making 52, Deron Wardrobe, 34 not out, and Marcus Castello chipping in with 25; Augustus Robertson took 2 for 32 bowling for Lion Gate Masters.

In reply, Lion Gate Masters were sent packing for 72 in 16 overs. Claudius Murray topscored with 20. Tyrone Isaacs captured 4 for 22 and Marcus Castello had 2 for 5 to be JAD best bowlers.
