Hector, Tesheira and Henry slam centuries in BCL
Donwell Hector, Albert Tesheira, and Brain Henry all hit centuries last Sunday for Middlesex and Cavalier, respectively, in an all Vincentian clash of the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL).{{more}}
Playing at Marine Park C, Hector, a current St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards middle order batsman, powered his way to 119; Middlesex posted 273 for 6 in the allotted 34 overs.
Mark Audain contributed 60 and Dominic Audain, 34.
Brian Henry took 2 for 47, and Peter Haywood, 2 for 49, bowling for Cavalier.
Then, it was the turn of the former St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards left handed middle order batsman Tesheira to show his worth.
Tesheira, with 132 not out, and Henry, 112, piloted Cavalier to 277 for 2, in 31.4 overs, to win by eight wickets.
Another Vincentian outfit, Imperial, was also in winnerâs row at Marine Park B.
Brooklyn Stars batted first and made 138 all out in 31 overs. Asim Safar hit a topscore of 53.
Byron Mars took 3 for 16, Kester Sylvester, the former Grenada and Windwards opening batsman, took 3 for 19, and Orient Bostic, 2 for 37, bowling for Imperial, who reached 139 for 7, in reply.
But for the other Vincentian team on show, Queenbury, it was a losing effort against Warriors.
Responding to Warriorsâ 241 for 8, Queenbury was dismissed for 165, to lose by 76 runs. For Quuenbury, Ivor Martin topscored with 35. (RT)
