Inter Primary School Athletics Finals tomorrow

The revised Inter Primary Schools Athletics final will be held tomorrow, June 8, at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, starting at 9 a.m.{{more}}

The event was orginally set for April 13, at the same venue, but heavy rains which affected the island, two days prior, had forced organisers to postpone the event.

The organisers are promising the young athletes a two coloured track, to aid in their understanding of running in lanes.

Both male and female athletes will compete in the Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, and Under-14 categories.

Each age group will also have the much-anticipated relays.

The primary school athletics meet comes just over two months after an impressive and successful hosting of the National Lotteries Authority Inter Secondary Schools Championships.

The finalists for tomorrow’s event first came through their schools’ inter house championships, then on to the schools’ zonal preliminaries, then an island wide semi-final round.

With a good geographical spread of those making the finals, anticipation is rife for a keenly contested championship.
