Neil Williams Academy, Radcliffe Too in NLA First Division Cricket
The Neil Williams Academy got past Radliffe Too by five wickets at the Stubbs Playing Field, as the National Lotteries Authority First Division of the national Cricket programme continued last weekend.{{more}}
Radcliffe Too was dismissed for 49, batting first. Former St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Windwards and West Indies fast bowler, Ian Allen bagged 3 for 1, Roland Mc Kie, 3 for 4, and Triston Browne, 2 for 9, did the damage with the ball for the Academy.
But the Academyâs batsmen did not capitalise on the bowlersâ efforts, as they fell for 79. Anthony Harper, 4 for 16, and Michael St. Hillaire, 2 for 18, restricted their opponentsâ batting.
In Radcliffeâs second innings of 102, Kareem Peters topscored with 39. Jelano Neil, 3 for 4, Ian Allen, 2 for 10, Roland Mc Kie, 2 for 30, and Mickhail Weekes, 2 for 35, shared the bowling spoils for the Neil Williams Academy.
Set 74 to win, the Academyâs batsmen obliged with 74 for 5.
The other match which saw on field action finished with Owia Stars gaining first innings points from Rivals Two at the London Playing Field.
Owia batted first and posted 232, led by Roger Francoisâ 76; Omari Lorraine hit 47 and Rodney Thomas, 32. Imari Smith sanred 5 for 51.
Rivals Two responded with 209. Leandre Gilkes struck 81 and Romano Grant, 35. Razine Browne picked up 4 for 65 and Rutelin Lavia, 3 for 38, bowling for Owia Stars.
Razine Browne scored 104 not out, Roger Francois, 52, and Omari Lorraine, 40, as Owia Stars was 244 for 6, in the second innings, when the match ended.
Winsbert Springer had figures of 3 for 65.
And, at Arnos Vale Two, Belmont United had an easy win over Log Enterprises Masters , who failed to field the minimum seven players when play was called last Saturday afternoon.
