Combined Stars humble West Side Knockers

Giant killers of the Hairoun Beer Bequia T/20 Cricket Competition, Courts More Faith Combined Stars moved another of the top teams last weekend.{{more}}

Following their defeat of Knights Trading Aussies two weekends ago, Combined Stars took care of Bequia Express West Side Knockers.

Combined Stars batted first and posted 133 all out from 18 overs. Phillip Richards hit a top score of 33. Zane Edwards bagged 4 for 14 and Glen dell Gregg had 3 for 19 bowling for West Side Knockers.

In their run chase, West Side Knockers were dismissed for 92 in 15.5overs; Terrance Mc Kree scored 3, but it was Xavier John’s 5 for 18, Alrick Pompey’s 2 for 13 and Romaul Stowe 2 for 22, which undermined West Side Knockers’ batting.

Also sharing the spotlight last weekend was St. Vincent and the Grenadines middle-order batsman Hyron Shallow who blasted 17 fours and 11 sixes in his 160 not out. Shallow was supported by Dominique Stowe who struck 69 not out, as Admiralty Transport Youth Combined piled up 255 for 2 from their 20 overs.

D’ Graduates in response were dismissed for 182.

Fitz Leslie top scored with 43. Jenry Ollivierre bagged 3 for 7 and Dominic Stowe 3 for 40 bowling for Youth Combine, as they recorded a comfortable 73 run triumph.

And, Carib Stars recorded a 186 run victory over South Side United.

Carib Stars batted first and made 238 for 5 from their 20 overs, with Veron Williams making 94 not out and Joe- Floyd John hit 75.

Akeem Ollivierre took 2 for 33 and Kemroy Compton had 2 for 54 were the United most successful bowlers for South Side United.

In their run chase, South Side United crashed to 52 all out, as they fielded only eight players.

Carib Stars chief wicket-taker was Des Wayne Williams who snared 4 for 14.

This weekend’s matches pit title-holders Knights Trading Aussies against Manicou on Saturday from 2 pm, while on Sunday Courts More Faith Combine Stars will take on D’Graduates from 10 am.

From 2 pm, that same day, Village Apartments Port Elizabeth will oppose Bequia Express West Knockers. (RT)
