Big names advance in ASCO T/20 Softball Cricket Competition

Big names in the local softball Cricket circles, Glen United, RSVG Police CGM Novice and Nex Level all booked Quarter Final places in the Ashburton Sports and Cultural Organisation (ASCO) Softball Cricket Competition last weekend.{{more}}

Glen had a comfortable 66 run win over La Croix Touch of Pearls.

Glen United posted 120 for 9 off 20 overs. Brian Hull hit 24 and Maxi Hackshaw, 20. Danny Allen bagged 3 for 19, Sherman Bailey, 2 for 22, and Ken Tesheira, 2 for 20.

In reply, La Croix Touch of Pearls was bundled out for 54 in 19 overs. Mc Neil Morgan took 2 for 6, Ken Browne, 2 for 16, and Dominic Stowe, 2 for 10.

Also on Saturday, RSVG Police took care of Mac Sprat I Strikers by eight.

Mc Spat I Strikers took first knock and posted an uncomplicated 66 all out in 15 overs. Ithlon Audain was the topscorer with 24. Kenroy Martin grabbed 5 for 8, and Renford Jack, 3 for 22. The law officers then made light work of the response with 72 for 2 in 11.2 overs. Renrick Cato made 31 not out.

CGM Novice beat Stallions by five wickets. Stallions posted 134 for 9 from their 20 overs. Fabian Roberts hit 22. Trevor Bute took 2 for 16, Norlan Williams, 2 for 22, and Kimani Thomas, 2 for 42, bowling for CGM Novice, who responded with 135 for 5 in 16 overs. Roderick John led the successful victory chase with 42.

Also advancing to the quarters was Crystal Clean Nex Level, who sent Progressive Youths packing by 25 runs.

Nex Level made 101 in 14.2 overs. Kishawn Williams was the pick of the Progressive Youths bowling with 3 for 25, and Danny Daniel took 2 for 26.

Progressive Youths made 76 all out in 14 overs.

And in the lone Female Division match, BMC Agencies Glen United defeated Dig Deep Warriors by 62 runs.

Glen United, fresh from taking the National Lotteries Authority Bagga Competition, scored 122 for 7 from their 15 overs. Michelle Horne posted 39 and Natasha John, 32. Sherry Ann John was Dig Deep’s main bowler, taking 2 for 10.

Dig Deep Warriors were restricted to 60 for 4 from their 15 overs. (RT)
