Glen clan rules in Bagga T/20

Glen United is positioning itself well in the National Lotteries Authority Bagga Tweny-20 Softball competition, when last weekend both the male and female outfits recorded comprehensive victories at the Keartons Playing Field.{{more}}

In the Male Division, Glen United comfortably got past Suprizers by seven wickets.

Suprizers made 45 all out in 13.4 overs. Troy Harry had bowling figures of 2 for 20.

Glen United then strolled to victory losing three wickets. Calvert Cordice took 2 for 8.

The Glen United females recorded a 60-run win over Ajuba Spurs.

Glen batted first and made 114 for 2 from their 15 overs, thanks to a 92-runs partnership between Beveth Myers and Natasha John, who both scored 30 not out.

Ajuba Spurs then replied with 54 for 7 in their 15 overs. Marcia Matthews was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 2, and Beveth Myers, 2 for 6.

Also scoring double triumphs were RSVG Police. In a replay of last year’s semi-final match up, Police beat Summerset by four wickets. Summerset, electing to bat, reached 78 for 7 in their 20 overs. Noxie Michael hit 27 not out. Demris Daniel captured 3 for 18.

The lawmen then made light work of the total, reaching 80 for 6 in 19 overs. Salvan Browne scored 30. Kevin Small was Summerset’s best bowler, with 3 for 18.

RSVG Police also took care of Come Again. Renford Jack, 4 for 2, and Kenroy Martin, 3 for 8, sent Come Again packing for a meager 27.

Police got to the winning total of 28, losing two wickets in the process. .

In other matches from the weekend, Future Legends recorded their first win, beating Kingdom Life Ministries (KLM) by 38 runs. Future Legends posted 86 all out. Walter Mason took 3 for 25.

K.L.M , in response, was dismissed for 53 in 12 overs. Amansford Richards and Eston Robertson took 3 for 18 and 3 for 24, respectively.

Keartons United kept their title hopes alive when they defeated Circumstances by 20 runs in a rain-affected match. Keartons, batting first, got up to 106 for 5 in their 20 overs. Edson Gordon struck 48. Kemry Westfield, 2 for 14, and Kurtlan Williams, 2 for 15.

Circumstances, in between the showers, was eventually dismissed for 86. Their innings was led by Maxwell Edwards who made 23. Kerwin Corke took 2 for 11, and Gilroy Olliver, 2 for 20, to see their team to victory. (RT)
