Bailey makes it two in a row
Shimano Bailey rode his way to the top in the 28 mile road bike road race last Sunday, put on by the SVG Cycling Union.{{more}}
Bailey clocked 1hr 43 mins 18.14 secs, to record his second win in the 2011 races.
The Road Bike category took the cyclists from Ratho Mill, then to the Round About in Arnos Vale, and returning to Howardâ s Marine, located at Villa Flat, seven times.
The previous race was a 20 mile event.
Second to Bailey was Marlon Antrobus whose time was 1hr 43 mins 54.93 secs, and his younger brother Lucky Antrobus, who placed third in 1 hr 43 mins 60.14 secs.
Other cyclists fell by the wayside, because of mechanical problems. Among them were Kenute George and Albert Quammie.
The lone mountain bike finisher in the 16 mile race was Cammie Adams, who clocked 1 hr 3 mins 19.52 secs.
The top finishers received cash awards.
This Sunday, February 27, will see a hill climb from the Texaco Gas Station at Arnos Vale to the Belmont Tourist look-out. (RT)
