Zonal Under-19 Cricket Final this Saturday
Central Windward will be looking to repeat their hold on the Zonal Under-19 Cricket title when they tackle St. George in a repeat of the last final, played earlier this year.{{more}}
The final takes place this Saturday at the Stubbs Playing Field from 9:30 am, with the match being extended to 50 overs from 40, as was the case in the preliminary and semi final rounds.
The two finalists earned the right last weekend with comfortable wins over their opponents.
Central Windward defeated North Leeward by 159 runs at Stubs on Saturday.
Rodney Lawrence struck 56, Gidron Pope 41, Deron Greaves 35 and Andrew Thomas 31, as Central Windward mounted 223 for 9 off their 40 overs.
Eston Robertson took 5 for 73, bowling for North Leeward.
In reply, North Leeward was bundled out for 64. Leshorn Lewis hit a topscore of 23. Anthony Harper bagged 4 for 5.
And, on Sunday at the London Playing Field, St. George cruised to a six wicket win over North Windward.
Michael May scored 18, in North Windwardâs total of 99 all out. Kentish Phillips raked in 6 for 31, bowling for St. George.
Atticus Browne then hit 35, and Jeron John scored 27 not out, as St. George reached 100 for 4.
Ray Jordon with 3 for 25, was North Windwardâs most successful bowler. (RT)
