North Leeward T/20 gets to semi finals
Troumaca United, Ajuba and defending champions Ruddyâs Electrical have booked their places in the Semi-Finals of the VINLEC North Leeward Twenty20 Cricket Competition.{{more}}
Troumaca United advanced with a 98-run triumph over Sharpes United. Troumaca batted first and scored 144 for 4 off 15 overs.
Javon Samuel struck 33 not out, Kenneth Dember, 32 and Keshorn Shallow, 31.
Sharps United, in reply, was bundled out for 46 off 9.5 overs.
Kenneth Dember, 3 for 8, Jamel Nash, 3 for 15, and Javon Samuel, 2 for 21, did the damage with the ball for Troumaca.
Ajuba got past Petit Bordel Secondary School by four wickets. Petit Bordel Secondary School got to 107 all out off 15.3 overs. Vangel Small scored 36, as Jamal Jeffery, 4 for 21, Reginald Jeffery, 3 for 10, and Ronniel Jeffery, 2 for 21, undermined their batting.
Ajuba replied with 110 for 6 off 15 overs, led by Walliston Stapletonâs 35. Shammon Hooper had figures of 2 for 17.
Defending champions Ruddyâs Electrical defeated Future Legends by six wickets. Future Legends made 107 all out off 17.5 overs. Amansford Richards hit 21 and Wiljovio Samuel 18. St. Clair Campbell bagged 4 for 26 and Leon Samuel 2 for 23.
Ruddyâs Electrical responded with 110 for 4 off 15 overs . Alfie Gould 57 not out and Marcus John, 24, ensured a step closer to the retention of the title.
Amansford Richards took 2 for 30, bowling for Future Legends.
The fourth team will be known tomorrow, Saturday, following the quarter-final match between Somerset and Peto Crusaders, from 1:30 pm, at the Petit Bordel Playing Field..
The winner advances to Sundayâs semi-finals and will engage Ajuba in the first of two games scheduled.
The second semi-final match will see Ruddyâs Electrical matching their skills against Troumaca United.
The Final is set for Sunday, September 19. (RT)
