Winless weekend for Vincy teams in BCL
The three Vincentian teams that played in last weekendâs Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL), all suffered losses.{{more}}
Going under were Cavaliers, Middlesex and Queensbury.
Cavaliers lost to Punjab at Marine Park C.
Punjab made 183 for 6 in 30 overs.
Bilal Ahmad made 74 not out. However, the team was unable to get to passed the 200 mark as a result of tight bowling from Chris Mc Grill who took 3 for 16 and Cameron Cuffyâs 2 for 20.
Cavaliers turn at the crease saw them responding with 165, only to lose by 18 runs. Albert Teshieraâs 36, Cameron Cuffyâs 29, Mike Providenceâs 22 and Orlanzo Moffordâs 17, were the main contributors.
Also, Middlesex lost to Warriors by 48 runs at Marine Park B.
Warriors made 185 in 35 overs. Treldon Mc Millan took 5 for 42 and Adam Sanford 2 for 27 to restrict the team to that total.
Middlesex in their reply were dismissed for 137 from 23.4 overs. This after being 95 for 3 from 12 overs. Oneil Powellâs 57 and Patrick Atkinsonâs 19 were the only batsmen to get double figures.
Queensbury lost to Brooklyn Knights. Batting first Brooklyn Knights scored 307. Kiran Cuffyâs 3 for 44 and Joseph Shortteâs 2 for 6 helped to contain the free flowing runs.
Queensbury made 96 all out, with veteran Iva Martin top scoring with 76, as Brooklyn Knights romped to a 111 runs triumph.
It was a return to old ways for Queensbury, who had came off a victory over Jinah.
Batting first Jinah had scored 69, to which Queensbury replied with 72 without loss. Mike Straker had struck 51.
Panthers is now out front with 13 wins and 3 losses. Diplomats is second with 11 wins and 5 defeats. Middlesex is next with 11 wins and 6 losses, with no game left, while Cavaliers has 10 wins 5 losses with two games pending and Punjab 9 wins and 4 losses.
This Saturday, Cavaliers faces Warriors at Marine Park C, Imperial meets St Lucia at Sea View, while Queensbury and Panther play at Marine Park A.
