Softball Cricket starts on the hill

After being severely affected by rain on the previous weekend, the SVGTV/Log Enterprises Dorsetshire Hill Soft Ball cricket competition got going in ernest last weekend, July 24th and 25th, 2010, at the Dorsetshire Hill playing field.{{more}}

On Saturday, Just for the Fun had the last laugh at T.A.G.S. Batting first, Just for the Fun compiled 85 for 8 from their alloted 20 overs and then restricted T.A.G.S to 80 all out in 12 overs.

In the second game on Saturday, All Stars shone over Vincom. All Stars batted first and amassed 138 for 7 off 20 overs and then bowled out Vincom for 104 in 17 overs.

Sunday’s first game saw Glen United winning by the default route as ASCO made a no-show. The second game saw Dr. Thomas Injectors performing surgery on Rivals. They injected a mammoth 198 for 4 off 20 overs and then read the last rights for Rivals, bowling them out for a meagre 52 runs in 17 overs.

The final game on Sunday resulted in victory for East Bank over T.A.G.S. East Bank compiled 122 for 9 in their 20 overs and then dismissed T.A.G.S for 84 runs.

T. Franklyn of Dr. Thomas injectors was named player of the weekend for his knock of 64 against Rivals. Next week end will see another series of five games being played at the Dorsetshire Hill Playing Field.
