Saints returns to Premier Division Cricket

After spending one season in the First Division, Eat Rite Saints is back up to the RBTT Premier Division of the domestic Cricket competition organized by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association (SVGCA).{{more}}

Saints, the oldest Cricket unit in existence in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, won the right last weekend when they beat Combined Youths on First innings at the Stubbs Playing Field.

Debutants to the First Division, Combined Youths took first strike and was booted out for batted for 106. Nico Davis was topscorer with 32. Saints’ bowling was led by Kentish Bascombe who picked up 3 for 22, Isaac Haywood, 2 for 14, and Felix Greaves snared 2 for 15.

Haywood then carved out 42, Amreal Bobb, 26, and Greaves, 25, to push Saints to 197, and at the same time cut away time in the match.

Bowling for Combined Youths, Elric Morris took 3 for 11, Rickford Walker, 3 for 34, and Davis, 2 for 11.

With the most likely outcome a draw, Combined Youth took batting practice, with Morris helping himself to 48 not out, as Combined Youths reached 97 for 1 when play was called off.

Eat Rite Saints then celebrated their 48 years of longevity as well as a title, as they will replace Packers United, who finished last in this year’s RBTT premier Division. (RT)
