NCB donates to Barrouallie Football Competition
The NCB Barrouallie Branch has pledged its support for another year for the NCB Barrouallie Football Competition.{{more}}
Colville Murray, Manager of NCB Barrouallie, presented a cheque valued at $5,000 for this yearâs competition to Anton Caesar, President of the Barrouallie Sports Association, along with Moeth Gaymes, Treasurer, and Casintha Duncan, General Secretary. Murray commented that the bank is pleased to continue its support of sports in rural communities. Murray said the bank has shown its commitment by sponsoring this type of activity for the past 13 years.
Caesar, on receiving the cheque, stated that he is grateful to be a part of this collaborative effort between the Barrouallie Sports Association and the National Commercial Bank. He added: âAt present, there is an economic crisis throughout the world, so the association is very pleased that funding agencies are still committed to sponsorship.â
The competition is set to commence this Sunday, August 1, at the Keartonâs Playing Field. 28 teams are expected to participate in this yearâs tournament in three divisions, namely: Premier, Masters and U-17 Divisions.
