Cavaliers looking to continue its winning ways in BCL

This Sunday, June 27, Cavaliers Sports Club will aim to continue to climb in points standing, in the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL) as they face off in a much anticipated and talked about clash with archrivals Imperial Caribbean Sports Club, in another all-Vincentian clash.{{more}}

The two Vincy outfits will meet each other at Marine Park C, from 1:30 pm; this after both teams had a winning weekend.

Cavaliers chalked up yet another win in their match last Sunday at Seaview against Pak Kashmir to go six up with one defeat.

Batting first, Pak Kashmir made 116 all out.

For Cavaliers, Cameron Cuffy grabbed 3 for 20 in 5.4 overs, while Nick Mc Farlin and Ezekiel Williams picked up 2 wickets apiece.

Cavaliers made light work of their reply, making 118 in 13.1 overs, losing four wickets in the process. Olanzo Mofford scored 45 and Mc Farlin 26 were two of the four wickets that helped Cavaliers reach their target.

On Sunday, they attained full points and a relaxing afternoon watching Imperial defeat Punjah, when St Lucia failed to turn up for their match with Cavaliers.

Punjab was169 all out in 34.5 overs. Abdul Hafeez, 44, and Bilal Ahmad, 35. Byron Mars, 3 for 17, Kester Sylvester, 3 for 33, and Andy Douglas, 2 for 19.

Foster Lewis, 40, Jason Williams, 38, Orient Bostic, 36, and Dexter Corbin, 20, did the job for Imperial.

Imperial, the 2009 Champions, are now 2 wins, 2 losses, 1 rain out.

On Saturday, Middlesex took another loss as they went under to Punjab who had recuperated from the Cavaliers beating.

Taking first strike, Middlesex was 190 all out. Joseph Ledwridge, 32, Dominic Audain, 27, and Mark Audain, 23.

Naeem Arif, 4 for 17, and Shaoib Chowhary, 4 for 42.

Replying Punjab 191 for 7 in 34 overs, Bilal Ahmad, 68, Shaoib Chowdhary, 32, not out and Khan, 30.

Adam Sanford took 4 for 38, Dominic Audain, 2 for 36, as Punjab won by three wickets.

Also, tomorrow, Saturday, June 26, Imperial plays Diplomats, Middlesex meets Diplomats, and Queensbury takes on Challengers. On Sunday also Queenbury engages Carriacou, as they prelude the ultimate clash between Cavaliers and Imperial on Sunday.
