Cricket returns to Dorsetshire Hill

Soft Ball cricketers as well as spectators in the Dorsetshire Hill Community now have lots to look forward to over the next three months. After being starved of any cricketing action for some time, the recently convened Dorsetshire Hill Softball Cricket Committee will ensure that players and spectators are fed a new diet of Softball Cricket beginning this weekend.{{more}}

The 2010 competition will bowl off in an innovative fashion from 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 20. The Opening Programme will include remarks by the Chairman of the Organising Committee, representative of the National Sports Council, representative of the Sponsors and the Junior Minister of Sports. This will be followed by a series of exhibition games featuring young players from the Dorsetshire Hill, Sion Hill and Belair/ Gomea/ Dauphine areas, as well as senior players from the Dorsetshire Hill and Arnos Vale areas.

Some sixteen teams are expected to participate in the Competition and will also be represented at the opening programme.

The competition will commence in ernest on Saturday, July 10, to allow the completion of the ASCO Soft ball Tournament, but exhibition games will be played on weekends leading up to Carnival activities in SVG.
