A sunny Saturday afternoon turned overcast, and some 28 overs into the game, with Queenbury at the crease, rain halted play for some time, with Queenbury, 90 for 3. The tight bowling of Ephraim Bacchus, 2 for 19, backed up by Ted Roberts, contributed to Queenburyâs runs limit.
The rain ceased and following much ado and discussion, the match continued. Cavaliers was set a target of 91 and made light work of it, losing one wicket. Albert Tesheira, former St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards batsman, led the way with 47 not out.
Cavaliers are now five up in the tournament, having lost one match, which was their first against the undefeated Panthers.
While Cavaliers was lucky enough to have their match completed, Imperial is still awaiting a decision in their game against Grenada.
When the clouds opened at Marine Park A, Grenada was 214. That game, however, could not be completed.
All things are in motion for action this weekend, as on Saturday, Cavaliers faces Pak Kashmir at Sea View. On Sunday, again at Sea View, they meet St Lucia.
Following a beating from Cavaliers, and a weekend off, Middlesex, another Vincentian outfit, should be refreshed and ready for Punjah on Saturday at Marine Park C. Punjah will play Imperial, also of Vincentian origin, on Sunday, again at Marine Park C.
Queenbury has the weekend off to nurse the defeat by Cavaliers.
