Maple on sub regional title mission

St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Vita Malt Maple Netball Club, the oldest Netball unit in the sub-region, is on a mission to reclaim the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Champion of Champions Club title.{{more}}

The ten-member team, along with three officials left here last Wednesday morning for St. Kitts for the Courts sponsored event.

The team comprises: Skiddy Francis-Crick, Elizabeth Caruth-Matthews, Curlan Francis-Edwards, Thelma Foster(Captain), Janette Toney, Debbie Jordon, Stacey Davis, Vasha Adams, Fay Richardson and Rose Claire Hall.

Three officials in Joan Foster Baynes – Coach, Peggy Hull – Manger and Oneil Cockburn – Umpire are part of the contingent.

Maple opens their campaign today Friday with a morning outing against Stoney Grove Untouchables of Nevis.

This evening, they play Coca Cola Shamrock of Dominica and tomorrow, Saturday, Maple comes up against Fort Knox Aces of St. Kitts.

They conclude their sojourn with a match up against Elite Strikers of St. Lucia on Sunday, which is billed as the championship decider.

The team returns on Monday, May 24. (RT)
