On Friday and Sunday during group C play in the Qualifiers, sponsors Digicel gave ten persons (five each day) the opportunity to win prizes by going onto the field of play at half time and attempting to score a shot from anywhere outside the 18-yard box.
Taking shots on Friday were, Jomo Cupid, Rohan McKenzie, Shadel Cyrus, Roxanne Hannaway and Casilda James.
Despite the expertise of the men, it was the young lady Casilda James who sent the keeper into a non-effective dive to his right. James scored after her second try and won herself a Digicel handset.
The Redemption Sharpes resident who plays in the forward position for the female national team said that she has been playing soccer for the last five years and gains inspiration from her father, former national player, Tyrone âTibaâ Prince.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, no one was able to score, although two persons, Kevin James and Shelly Browne, hit the post. The other kickers were Dexter Rogers, Andrew Bramble and Dwight Williams. However, the participants did not leave empty-handed. On both days, a Fifa 2000 gear bag, a FIFA/Digicel T-shirt and a Digicel ball were given to the kickers.
