SVG Cycling Union holds North Leeward Road Event

Last Sunday, the SVG Cycling Union staged the Beachfront Restaurant/Sailor’s Cycle Centre Mountain Bike Cycle Classic at Chateaubelair, with four races.{{more}}

The three-lap event, which covered a distance of six miles, saw veteran rider Peter Durrant taking the first spot in 15 minutes 21.18 seconds. Marlon Mc Intosh was second with a time of 15 minutes 23.65 seconds. Taking the third spot was Cammie Adams, whose time was 16 minutes 18.27 seconds.

In race two, the order of placing was the same. However, Durrant was able to shave off some time. He, the second time around, clocked 14 minutes 51.52 seconds. Mc Intosh, though, was slower, as he returned a time of 16 minutes 13.05 seconds. Adams, who maintained his third spot, did the six laps in 16 minutes 18.18 seconds, which was marginally faster on his previous ride.

The BMX category, which also had two races, was won on both occasions by Jamal Hope. His times were 21 minutes 47. 20 seconds, and 13 minutes 01.49 seconds, respectively.

Chad Culzac clocked 21 minutes 47. 43 seconds and 13 minutes 01.74 seconds in race one and race two in that order. He was second on both occasions, in the 4 mile race.

In race two, third was Ifee Lewis in 13 minutes 37.63 seconds.
