Sol Regional Meet faces off

Local race fans are in for a treat this weekend when the Sol SVGAA Regional Race meet gets underway at the Diamond race track.{{more}}

Twenty-four of some of the best drivers, including the likes of Trevor “Micey” Manning and Michael Worme, out of Barbados, will come up against local boys Steve “Cap” Ollivierre, Keith Francis, and Dexter Gellizeau, among others.

Art Huggins, Automobile Association’s President, said that fans could expect some good racing this weekend.

“We have some fantastic cars out of Barbados,” Huggins told SEARCHLIGHT.

He added that the local contingent has come a long way in terms of upgrading which will make for some competitive racing throughout.

The event will be the first one of its kind to be staged here within recent times and the first of its kind to be held at the newly laid track.
