The Youth Combine outfit batted first and reached 183 all out. Their total, though, was mainly owed to the heroics of former St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards fast bowler Mc Neil â Tasteâ Morgan, who lashed a pugnacious 82.
Morgan came the crease with his team tottering at 68 for 5. He belted his first ball for four, then his second for a six, to announce his intent.
On a rampage, Morgan added eight more sixes and four more fours in period of sensible power hitting, much to the delight of the large and appreciative crowd. Morgan also made good of a dropped catch when he was on 32.
Jimi Lavia contributed 29. Bowling for the Aussies, Dean Browne took 5 for 31 and Razine Browne 2 for 40.
The Aussies fell short by 26 runs as they were dismissed for 157. Drumo Toney spanked 39 and Salvan Browne, 37.
Lavia took 2 for 2 and Garvin Ollivierre, 2 for 30.
In the third place play off, which preceded the Final, Bequia Express West Side Knockers beat D- Graduates in a reduced 15 over encounter. West Side Knockers made 137 for 7 off their 15 overs. Jefferson Richards made 42, Terrence Mc Ree, 25. Orson Ollivierre, 2 for 20, Allan Foyle, 2 for 24 and Fitz Leslie, 2 for 31, bowling for West Side Knockers.
Dâ Graduates stopped at 131 for 8. Shefforn Cordice, 27, and Leslie, 22. Glendell Greg took 3 for 21 and Zane Edwards, 3 for 28.
Since the inception of the competition in 2007, both teams have contested all three finals. Youth Combine won the inaugural competition, and last year, they shared the spoils, as the competition ended in an unusual tie. (RT)
