The previous day, Middlesex had won the toss and asked Punjab to take first strike. Punjab was 84 for 3 from 15 overs when the rain came. The match was reduced to 25 overs, and at the end of the innings, Punjab had reach 151 for 6.
Bowling for Middlesex, Mark Audain was the most successful bowler with 3 for 42. Middlesex got to 145 for 6. Casper Davis, 32, Emmanuel, 26, not out and, Treldon Mc Millan, 21. Middlesex had required 20 runs from the last over, but only achieved 15, losing the match by 5 runs to the 2008 Knock Out champion.
The Imperial versus Grenada game on Sunday was also affected by the weather.
Imperial, another team with Vincentian origins, had made 182 for 6 when the rains came. When the match continued, it was reduced to 20 overs. Grenada was given 120 to make in 20 overs. However, Imperial complained about the run up, which saw only one ball bowled.
Meanwhile, the Cavalier versus St Lucia match at Sea View was not played as St Lucia could not field a team.
